Thanks!
A special thanks to Ron Klug, Mark Dutton and Robert Kenewell for their time and energy in helping out our community.
Also, we launched our Membership Program and already got some charter members signed up! This is a great way to help build and sustain this community, ensure there are continual public and private meetings and get some nice benefits.
More details will be listed on here in the next few weeks but definitely email or call with any questions.
Thanks Michigan.
Tony and Chad.

Prohibition Failures
From Police Captain, Peter Christ (ret.) member of LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition) speaking about how Prohibition does not work in any way, at any place. He spoke about the very first instance of Prohibition:
1. The Law: Do not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil!
2. Location: Garden of Eden
3. Number of people involved: 2
4. Number of Trees of Knowledge to prohibit: 1
5. Entity enforcing the Prohibition: The Creator himself…wow.
We all know how that ended up. And while this is an extreme example, knowing that this almighty Prohibition itself did not work on such a small control sample is an interesting way to illustrate why it does not work.
By dangling something in front of people and saying “See this lovely thing here? Well, you can’t have it.” all you are doing is making them want it more.
This is nothing new, I just thought it was a funny illustration of Prohibition.

Thank You! What's next...
Thanks to all to who attended the inaugural meeting of the Birmingham Compassion Club. We had seventy in attendance, with many staying behind to help and learn until the doors closed at 8:45pm – great showing for the community!
Thanks also to Greg Francisco and Brad Forrester from the MMMA, and Dr. Robert Kenewell from the Clinic for Compassionate Care for presenting and taking questions. If you were not able to get your question answered, feel free to email us at birminghamcompassion@gmail.com and we will answer it or find somebody who can.
With so many attendees, Tony, Mark, and I didn't get to meet each of you personally, so make sure to grab us at the next meeting or shoot us a quick hello email.
We’re still finalizing the date for the next meeting, which is tentatively set for Tuesday, September 22. (September happens to have 5 Tuesdays, so we wanted to go with the 4th Tuesday of every month instead of the Last Tuesday of every month). But stay tuned to the http://birminghamcompassion.blogspot.com, www.comfortgroup.org and the MMMA website for details.
And here's a way you can help: Make sure to let us know particular topics you want to hear about! Send an email or submit a blog comment and we can tailor the meeting accordingly. We have a good 4-6 presentations on tap over the next few meetings that we can shift around as needed so come back to check them out. And if you know like-minded people who have questions or concerns about the Medical Marijuana Laws in Michigan, tell them and bring them.
This great start for the Birmingham Compassion Club is a part of the strong continual effort of the whole Movement.
Sign up on the blog for updates, let us know your comments and keep supporting Compassion Clubs.
